Your Vision, Our Future: Re-Elect Rachel Kertz for San Rafael City Council

Having dedicated the past four years to unwavering service and community engagement, I am confident that I am the right choice to represent the North San Rafael district and continue serving as your Councilmember. My tenure has been marked by a profound commitment to addressing the needs and concerns of our residents, ensuring a safer, more inclusive, and thriving community for all.

A Record of Meaningful Impact

My engagement and responsiveness within our community underscore my passion for San Rafael. I consistently respond to local issues in meaningful and actionable ways, collaborating with residents and community advocates to drive positive change. My key areas of focus include wildfire preparedness, affordable housing, addressing homelessness, and advocating for older adults.

  • Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority (MWPA): As a dedicated member of the Marin Wildfire, I have worked tirelessly to equip our city with the necessary resources to mitigate wildfire risks and protect our residents. My commitment to wildfire preparedness is a testament to my proactive approach to ensuring the safety of our community, ensuring your tax dollars are spent as promised, and using science and data to define our plan and priorities.

  • Affordable Housing and Homelessness: Affordable housing is a cornerstone of community stability, and I have prioritized this issue by approving housing projects and supporting legislation aimed to help the production of more affordable units, and collaborating with stakeholders. Addressing homelessness is not just a moral imperative; it is essential for the well-being of our city. Together, we can make significant strides in providing secure housing for all.

  • Advocating for Older Adults: My unwavering commitment to older adults stems from personal experience as part of the "sandwich generation," balancing the needs of both my children and elderly parents. I understand the challenges of finding the right caregiving situation, the health risks of social isolation and the fear of financial concerns. I am dedicated to ensuring the security and safety of our older residents through targeted advocacy and support.

A Vision for the Future

Building on my experience as a two-term San Rafael School Board Trustee, advocacy is ingrained in my approach to public service. I am dedicated to amplifying the voices of all residents, fostering inclusivity, and ensuring that every concern is heard and addressed. By promoting engagement and civic participation, we can build a more vibrant and resilient San Rafael community.

I will continue to speak out against antisemitism and hate speech, ensuring that San Rafael remains a welcoming and inclusive community. My commitment is to work for ALL residents, standing against hate and fostering unity.

Moving Forward Together

My vision for San Rafael is one of safe, sustainable, and thriving neighborhoods. I am dedicated to empowering residents to actively participate in the democratic process, fostering a sense of ownership and pride in our collective future. Together, we can uphold the legacy of excellent public service, providing the resources and support necessary for every resident to flourish.
